In 2013, City of Joy launched Joy Christian School with a small group of kindergarten students in Southern Rwanda.

Today, that very first class is preparing to graduate.

For generations, their families have survived as subsistence farmers, often eating just one meal per day, with no clear path beyond poverty. Before Joy Christian School, most children in this community had little chance to finish school, let alone dream of becoming teachers, nurses, engineers, or community leaders.

Because of generous people like you, that story is changing.

 

Joy Christian School provides a high-quality education in a Christ-centered environment for children living in extreme poverty. Students receive the support they need to stay in school and thrive.

• Two hot meals each school day

• School uniforms, books, and essential supplies

These are not extras. For many children, this is the difference between dropping out early or graduating with a real chance to break the cycle of poverty.

As we look ahead to the 2025 school year, we want to say “yes” to as many students as possible — but we can only do that if we meet our year-end goal.
