The smell of cinnamon and spice, Christmas trees with dazzling lights, mountains of presents and stockings stuffed with treats. These are the Christmas memories many of us hold from our childhood and try to pass on to our kids and grandkids.
In the village of Gatagara, where the students of Joy Christian School live, Christmas looks nothing like this. Most students won’t get any gifts and won’t have a special meal. In fact, our students will be grateful to even get one meal on Christmas Day.
For the last two years, in partnership with amazing child sponsors and donors, City of Joy, has provided every Joy family with a special gift during the week of Christmas.
We know the true gift of the season is Emmanuel, God with us. In an area of the world where kids wear shoes and clothes until they literally fall off and where 1 in 4 kids suffer from stunting due to lack of nutrition, a little something extra at Christmas makes the promise of Christmas a little more tangible.
Will you please make a $50 Christmas gift today to give a student living in extreme poverty a merry Christmas? 100% of your donation will go to Rwanda to provide a student with new shoes, new clothes, and a week’s worth of food for their family.
We have 365 students in our school and we don’t want them to think of Christmas as just another day.
Let’s give them tangible reminders that Christmas is a special season when we celebrate the abundant gift of God.
Donate now and share the Christmas love today!
