and learn about their sponsor students, creating genuine relationships across cultures and thousands of miles.
The Heart Behind the Gathering
The Joy Gathering is a time of fellowship for sponsors, donors, and anyone interested in what’s happening at City of Joy.
Come be encouraged and uplifted as you meet members of our staff, hear updates, and listen to stories from our students and school.
Enjoy food, fellowship, crafts for kids, and many different ways to engage.
Prayer:
We want to emphasize the importance of prayer partners.
Prayer is not simply something we do for the mission—it is part of how we participate in it. It is worship.
At City of Joy, we believe our students, families, teachers, communities, and partners around the world need people who will faithfully pray for them.
Through stillness and prayer stations, we create space for children, families, and congregations to slow down, listen, and practice praying for their communities and the world around them.
At The Joy Gathering, you’ll have the opportunity to pray intentionally for Rwanda, our students, our staff, and the work God is doing through City of Joy.

Education:

Through Christian education, we are equipping students with knowledge, character, skills, and a foundation of faith that prepares them for the future God has for them.
At The Joy Gathering, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about our school, hear updates from Rwanda, and better understand the lives and experiences of the students and families we serve.
